The "Lovely Linda" - Ideas Brought to Life
The raised panel Maple Cognac cabinets with their graceful arch profile along with the gentle swirl
and soothing color palette of the Vyara Gold granite combine beautifully as the feel of this
kitchen seems to whisper a hint towards the Sonoran Desert.
This combination is further complimented by sealed and enhanced Bianco Travertine
subway tiles with honed stone mosaic accents in Carmel mix.
The Linda* - Original Architect Floor Plan
|
Here is the original Linda floor plan, before custom modifications were made to meet the needs of the homeowner:
- Refrigerator located to the right of the cooktop, across from sink wall
- Dishwasher located to the left of sink
- Wall oven located to the right of sink
- Cooktop centered between wall and refrigerator
Cooktop Wall - Hand Rendering
|
Tall cabinets housing the double wall oven, microwave and refrigerator were moved to the
end walls to visually open the kitchen.
These modifications did not use any additional space in this efficiently laid out executive/retirement rancher custom home.
A large pots and pans roll out cabinet to the right of the cooktop, custom cutlery trays,
a built-in knife cutting center, and ample drawers were all on the homeowner's wish list.
Sink Wall - Hand Rendering
|
Angled open shelves at the end of the upper cabinets repeat the graceful lines of this kitchen.
The crown molding, light rail, raised center cabinet and crown valance detail over the sink give
it eye-catching architectural presence.
Important details you may overlook when designing your kitchen include the use of three sources of lighting:
recessed, pendant, and under cabinet.
These sources provide the best options for task lighting and entertaining.
Bar Wall - Hand Rendering
|
Counter-height eating bar was a "must have" requested by the homeowner.
The 63 inch wide eating bar visually opens up this efficient galley style kitchen.
The homeowners wanted a deep serving bar for setting up buffet style dinners just off of the screened in porch.
