NC Custom Home Design - Best Ways to Rearrange a Floor Plan
Idea. Sketch. Design. Build. Here’s how it happens:
Modifying basics to create an extraordinary custom home (Here’s how “the Carwile” was created.)
The Carwiles asked for little changes that made a big difference in the floor plan they chose.
Stanton Homes moved the small laundry room behind the kitchen into the dining room space. The laundry room
became an ample walk-in pantry with exterior window
.
The formal dining room on the original floor plan was redesigned to become a mudroom/everything room to fit a lifestyle with kids and pets who needed a "Home Hub"
(you can see more about it, here)
.
The
powder room was moved out of the foyer
where it started, and tucked in behind the study, conveniently off the great room.
A recessed entryway (pictured to the left) was
designed to create privacy
.
The toilet was tucked in
underneath the stairs
- nicely out of view from the open powder room door.
An
art niche with recessed lighting
was included in the wall opposite the door to show off a planned family portrait with a new baby (on the way in the midst of all this planning.)
A vanity cabinet with drawers and a
framed mirror flanked by wall sconces
add simple elegance to the room.
Every aspect of this modified powder room says "high-end" (while
still meeting practical needs
of extra storage).
The master suite bathroom got a total makeover, too!
See it here
.
Here is the modified Carwile floor plan,
after custom modifications were made
to meet the needs of the homeowner:
Powder Room has been removed from the Foyer and tucked
underneath the staircase
Formal Dining Room has been
replaced with large "Home Hub" mudroom/laundry
room combination
Laundry Room has been converted into
extra large walk-in pantry
